WHO WILL MOUNT THE STAGE?

Have you ever been to an occasion where the MC arrived very late? ------ I was at a birthday party and for the larger part of the time spent in the party; the MC was nowhere to be found. Everywhere seems lost at first until the organizers started requesting that one of them step up and talk as MC, then this gentleman stepped up the stage and started cracking jokes that aren’t funny and saying things that aren’t palatable to the ear.
He must have felt he’s doing good because he moved around the stage with his shoulders high and he intermittently laugh at his own jokes alone while we laugh at his laughs. We weren’t having a good
time but do we have a choice? -- The MC was nowhere and the stage has got to be used.

If someone who is to use the stage doesn’t use it, someone who shouldn’t have any business with the stage will use it because the stage has got to be used.

If people that should be proud of their acts don’t mount the societal stage, people who should be ashamed of theirs will simply mount it because of the same reason------ (the stage has got to be used).

There are so many youths doing wonderful things underground or having great society building ideas but instead of being proud and step up the societal stage, they remain underground and say “this is not what people want to hear these days” or “this isn’t gonna fetch me much” and this is the reason for the enormous immoral and mind disturbing acts on our airwaves.

People display shameful acts on our screens and papers why? Because the ‘Bimbo Odukoyas’ are not there on the screens. People dance shameful dance on our TVs because the ‘Pernam Percy Pauls’ are no more there. People talk immorality publicly because a lot of ‘Fela Durotoyes’ aren’t speaking---The Nigerian ‘Don Moens’ are carried away with Tungba gospel and millions of ‘Martin Luther Kings’ are hiding their heads.

The stage do not give a damn who is stepping on it, It carries whoever mounts it and if you who is suppose to be proud of yourself and in what you do don’t  make any effort to mount the stage, it carries whoever mounts it and we will have no choice but to listen.
