SLEEP

Sleep slip through my eyes
To hide under my head rest
I’ve waited for shadows to disappear
For the dreams I long to bear
But like hide and seek
I play to seek sleep and have dreams

Sleep slip through my head rest
To hide under my mattress
I’ve waited to lay my bed
For the dreams I long to bear
But like children on a swing
I roll from right to left to seek sleep and have dreams

Sleep slip through my mattress
And flew to the rooftop
I’ve waited to set my windows free
For the dreams I long to bear
But like a cargo just from oversea
I count boxes demarcating ceiling to seek sleep and have dreams

Take my thoughts and give me dreams
Thoughts may be wrong, dreams are always not
Tired of hide and seek and the way I swing
I’ve let the windows free, please come in with the breeze
Take these thoughts from me, come with the dream you promised
