Of all the occupations in the world, I like fire fighters. I like them best not for anything but for the name. If you are one, it is a name that constantly reminds you that you are a fighter and that constantly tells you what you’re fighting even from the call of your name.

If in our occupations and in life generally, we can constantly be called a fighter and by what we are fighting, I am sure our attitude towards what we do and how we live will be significantly different--- the population of the people that aren’t fighting will be known E.g., if a student is called ‘low grade fighter’ and an entrepreneur a ‘loss fighter; you’ll be amazed a lot of people aren’t fighting and even the ones in one occupation or the other don’t see themselves as fighters--- what are you fighting?

Giving up is one decision that I have always wished I had until now that I am using it on my purpose. Giving up especially in a relationship or friendship is sometimes necessary, they call it ‘letting go’ but it is the worst thing that can ever happen to human in his quest for purpose.

Most times giving up on your purpose looks like the safest option when every kinds of challenges come rearing their ugly heads on your path; when things don’t appear easy as planned, then you look at the option of giving up and it is like that succulent mattress that is ready to bear your weight for free and drip out all your nightmares before dawn.

If you set to embark on the journey to reach the horizon where the sky and the earth meet, I bet you will get to the horizon where the poor and the rich meet on that same route.

THERE IS A HORIZON HERE!

There is an attitude that drives a determined person when he can’t imagine and don’t care what it will cost him to get to the end of what he has chosen to do.
Just like he sees the natural horizon, he sees where he is going and do not care how long or how difficult it will be to get there. This attitude brings you to reach many other horizons, among them is the one where the poor and the rich meet.
 

To many people, it is “the rich getting richer and the poor getting poorer”; a statement that seems to tell you there is continuous widening gap between the two but the truth is, the former keeps himself moving while the latter gets himself stuck.

In the book 'Gifted Hands' Sonya (Ben Carson’s mother) reached the horizon between the poor and the rich in books. Even though she couldn’t read, she watched her masters, saw how they relate with books (housing, cleaning and handling them carefully) and she believed that it is a horizon.
