FIRE FIGHTER
Of all the occupations in the world, I like fire fighters. I like them best not for anything but for the name. If you are one, it is a name that constantly reminds you that you are a fighter and that constantly tells you what you’re fighting even from the call of your name.

If in our occupations and in life generally, we can constantly be called a fighter and by what we are fighting, I am sure our attitude towards what we do and how we live will be significantly different--- the population of the people that aren’t fighting will be known E.g., if a student is called ‘low grade fighter’ and an entrepreneur a ‘loss fighter; you’ll be amazed a lot of people aren’t fighting and even the ones in one occupation or the other don’t see themselves as fighters--- what are you fighting?

There are basically two kinds of people in the world; they are not the rich and the poor; not the white and the black; not the beautiful and the ugly nor is it the male and female. They are the ‘fighters’ and the ‘non fighters’--- these two categories are in every sphere of life and in everywhere in the world.

I was stunned to see a man sleeping in a wheelbarrow on the streets of Chicago. This is where everyone in the world thinks a lot of opportunities abound and where we, in this part of the world thinks is a haven--- and here is a man sleeping away in a wheelbarrow while hundreds of buildings are busy scraping the skies.

A fighter has a clear picture of what/who he is fighting and what strategy to use in fighting. A fighter sees and thinks for his opponent. A fighter is someone that doesn’t wait for a problem to meet him unaware: he wakes up every morning to kit up for all unforeseen challenges; a fighter is someone that doesn’t just have the strength but the wisdom to go through his day and come back to bed as a winner; a fighter is someone with grand plan for the next 24hrs.

It doesn’t matter who you are or what you do, whoever you are or whatever it is you do, it is imperative you see yourself as a fighter because in the real sense, you are fighting and it will just be fair that you at least know that you are.
