Giving up is one decision that I have always wished I had
until now that I am using it on my purpose. Giving up especially in a
relationship or friendship is sometimes necessary, they call it ‘letting go’
but it is the worst thing that can ever happen to human in his quest for
purpose.
Most times giving up on your purpose looks like the safest
option when every kinds of challenges come rearing their ugly heads on your
path; when things don’t appear easy as planned, then you look at the option of
giving up and it is like that succulent mattress that is ready to bear your
weight for free and drip out all your nightmares before dawn.
Giving up on what you have passion for (your purpose) is like
three things I want you to always remember.
11.
Giving up is like a stop at 6up.
Donald Trump always says this story
his father told him when he was just a boy. The story about a man who started a
cola company and named it 3up, the company failed, so the man started all over
again and this time, he named his company 4up and after a lot of struggle with
it, he decided to start again and this time it was 5up, then 6up and still
couldn’t find headway so he gave up at 6up.
He couldn’t bear the reoccurring failure
and the shame it brings among friends and family so he quit at 6up not
knowing that 7up is the lucky name; the ‘magic name’ of a brand the
whole world is been waiting to receive.

Giving up is like a leaf drop
I was sitting under a non deciduous tree
one afternoon when I noticed a leaf drop. I picked it up wondering why it had
to fall in the midst of other numerous leaves. I concluded it simply responded
to a gravitational force calling it to come and decay. The leaf drops to the
ground under the tree, decay and used to supply nutrient to the other leaves.
Just like the leaf, a natural force calling
us to give up is a force calling us to come and decay so that others that
aren’t responding to the call can get some nutrients.
In the first story, the man never got to
7up but somehow some other person got there. The world has to go round, if you
don’t take up your responsibility to make it go round, some other person will
take advantage of your decision to simply step up.

Giving up is like nailing in a coffin something
that never dies.
When we give up, there is something in us
that is never satisfied. Like a half crushed cockroach, it never gives up.
Something that always bring you to wishing you are still involved and what you
do is mourn this thing as if it is dead, build a coffin for it, lay it in and
nail it.
Giving up is like nailing a part of you that
will never die and thus will always cry……….
